My guess is that this is looking west on Water Street with the Mattapoisett Inn (Kinsale) on you right close to the center of the picture. Wonder what Mattapoisett was like just before WWII ended? The Christmas season of this year marked the beginning of the Battle of the Buldge. The great tall oak trees that lined Water Street had survived the hurricane of 1938 six years before.
